The blade is a circular blade, with serrated teeth on one side, that is used to groom the cat, and an ergonomic grip helps you with reducing your cats furballs and matting.
If you and your cat aren't used to using shedding blades, start slowly and be particularly careful around sensitive areas (under their armpits, their belly).
Once you both get used to it, they are a very effective tool for reducing shedding and dealing with long fur!

'Am not sure about this shedding blade, as I only purchased it because it was advertised as being for long haired cats, which my cat is and it looked like a very good idea. But when it arrived, the box refers to “the shedding blade having fine teeth for short coats.” And no where on the box does it mention it’s good for long haired cats. So I don’t think it’s going to be much good for my very long haired rag doll, unfortunately. '
